Havre Man Who Died in Motorcycle Wreck Identified

BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – The Park County Coroner’s office has released the name of the Havre man who was killed in a motorcycle wreck on the Beartooth Highway outside Yellowstone National Park. Coroner Al Jenkins says 70-year-old Herbert Hanson was killed in the Saturday afternoon wreck.

Hanson apparently missed a sharp left curve in the road and the motorcycle went off the side of the road into a dry creek bed. The motorcycle overturned and Hanson and his 69-year-old female passenger landed on the rocks. Hanson was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was flown to Billings Clinic for treatment.

Authorities say they were wearing helmets and driving a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
