Blaine County Commissioners Issue Burn Ban

CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – Due to dry and windy conditions in Blaine County, the Blaine County Commissioners have implemented a burn ban effective immediately.

Commissioner Frank DePriest says that all burning associated with debris disposal or agricultural clearing is prohibited until further notice. The burn ban applies to all outdoor burning except recreational cooking fires.

No new burn permits will be issued, and all current permits are suspended until conditions improve and the burn ban is lifted.

The public is reminded that even the smallest spark has the potential to cause significant damage, so please do your part to prevent wildfires.
