HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Wednesday night, Havre’s City Council met for their annual budget meeting. Few people came to the meeting and Finance Director Doug Kaerecher said no one came into his office to look at the City’s budget. The meeting was opened Tuesday night and continued Wednesday to give the public a chance to view the budget in City Hall.
The Council had the final reading for four resolutions levying and assessing taxes to defray the cost of maintaining streets, street lights, the Bullhook, and solid waste services. The street taxes are up the most this year due to some new equipment being purchased.
The Council then adopted the final budget for fiscal year 2019-2020 and passed a resolution fixing the annual tax levies.
