MSU to Offer Fumigant Training Classes in Havre December 18

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana State University’s Pesticide Education Program will offer two trainings to assist applicators in effectively managing pests with phosphine fumigants while using the fumigants safely.

A press release says that phosphine gas applicators may attend the fumigant training sessions on Tuesday, December 18th in Havre or December 19th in Miles City. The half-day sessions will focus on managing rodents with fumigants and managing insects in agricultural structures.

Human fatalities prompted the EPA and product registrants to implement new phosphine fumigant restrictions.

The December 18th training in Havre will be held at the northern Agricultural Research Center near Fort Assiniboine and the cost is $30.

Registration for the trainings is required by December 12th. Participants may register online at pesticides.montana.edu/event or by calling 406-994-5178.
