Havre, MT – Chinook Sugarbeeter football enters the season with eight seniors returning from a roster that went 7-3 a year ago.
That, however, is only one end of the spectrum as head coach Mike Jones will also be forced to rely on inexperienced underclassman.
“We’re not going to have a ton of numbers, I think we got 21 out right now, so we’re going to need them to step up.” Coach Jones shared.
We talked to those older kids and the younger kids at the same time about it’s not if they’re going to have to step up it’s when they’re going to have to step up. They are going to have to be ready when their number is called and I think they are excited about that too.”
Chinook lost six seniors from the 2025 team including Britt Powel who was knocking on the door of programs single season Interception record.
The Suguarbeeters kickoff the season at Simms HS on Saturday, August 29 at 7p.m.
