HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The 2019 General Elections are a few weeks away and New Media Broadcasters is profiling candidates in contested races.
There is one contested race in Havre this year and Ward 4 City Council incumbent Erik Meis will be facing off against Derek Eldridge. Meis is a long-time Havre resident who has owned several local businesses. He was appointed to the position a year ago after Andrew Brekke moved to a different ward.
“I bring an unbiased, open-minded approach. I take into consideration the issue and how it will affect the people in Ward 4. I’m not afraid to ask tough questions of the council. I have done so in the past.”
Meis says he comes to Council meetings with an open mind and tries to keep his whole ward in mind.
“I don’t have any issues, per say. My goal is to educate the people in Ward 4 about the issues that are coming up and listen to their concerns and to best represent their interests.”
