HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The MSU-Northern Rodeo teams are preparing to host their 20th annual Cowboy Christmas fundraiser.
Scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14th at 5 pm in the Armory Gymnasium on campus, this year’s iteration will include no host cocktails, a prime rib and shrimp dinner, live and silent auctions and music from the Plowed Under Band.
Doug Kallenberger, head coach of the Northern Rodeo teams, says there will also be plenty of interactive games taking place.
“We’ll play heads and tails, bingo, poker tables, there’s a roulette table, live and silent auctions throughout the night. Silent auctions kind of get closed throughout the night. We try and keep between 30 and 40 live auctions.”
Kallenberger says this event accounts for between 75-80 percent of the rodeo teams annual funding.
“It covers everything from scholarships, number one, to travel and our practice stock and practice facilities. So this event really is our lifeline as a college rodeo team.”
Cost to attend is $40 per person, $300 for a table of six or $400 for a table of eight. Capacity for the event is 500 people, and tickets can be purchased at Stockman and Independence Banks, Norman’s Ranch & Sportswear and Western Trailer and Marine Sales.
