HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Only four days remain in the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign, and they are in desperate need of volunteers in order to make their fundraising goal.
As of Friday, the Havre Service Center had raised $19,843 through their kettle campaign this year. That is lower than their $21,000 raised to this date last year and well behind their $32,000 goal.
Trina Crawford, Director of the Havre Service Extension of the Salvation Army, says if they fail to make their fundraising goal, they would have to reduce the amount of emergency assistance they are planning on providing in 2020.
“It just means I would not be able to help as many people in the Hill County area with the emergency assistances like emergency rental, emergency gas vouchers, emergency lodging and first months rent, which takes people out of homelessness.”
Ideally, the Salvation Army would like volunteers to cover a minimum of a two hour shift, but they are willing to be flexible. To volunteer, call 301-0476.
