HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana State Library Commission called their online meeting to order Monday, April 27.
During the meeting, the commission approved the 2021 Montana Land Information Act (MLIA) Grant Awards.
MLIA budgeted $250,000 for the 2021 fiscal year and is set to allocate $162,198 of that budget to the 11 approved applicants who filed.
Some of these applicants include Choteau, Liberty and Pondera Counties.
These counties asked for funding to update their Geographic Information Data (GIS), maps and Enhanced 9-1-1 services.
Upgrading these systems provides county dispatch centers the ability to direct local emergency response teams to emergency situations in a more accurate and timely manner.
Choteau county was awarded $16,434, Liberty County was awarded $4,107 and Pondera County was awarded $17,969.
