HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The University of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) held an online conference Tuesday, April 28 and revealed a preliminary analysis that forecasts COVID-19’s economic impacts on Montana.
According to BBER’s research, the Hi-Line has seen a six percent decrease in jobs because of COVID-19.
BBER’s forecast projects this six percent decline in personal income won’t return to December 2019’s numbers for two more years because of the virus.
The forecast also projects the state of Montana will be $3.9 billion lower in 2020 than what they previously projected four months ago.
