HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Northern Lights Athletic Scholarship Foundation (NLASF) is putting on a Golf Scramble Saturday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at the Prairie Farms Golf Course.

NLASF Administrative Director Bobbie Morse said they had to cap the tournament at 18 teams because of COVID-19, but they are excited put on the event and they have some great games planned for the course.

“We have lots of different games to play like a dice roll, a chip off, we have a special shot on hole 18 – just different activities for people to do while they’re out there doing the scramble.

Morse said there are four people allowed per team and each team has a chance to win some great prizes.

“We have ten prizes for each hole. They’re mainly contributions from either our local businesses or our coaches from here at the college. We have a prize for the low-grossing team, and we offer prizes at the course itself in the pro shop.”

Morse said they also have two $500 sponsored holes that teams can win.

To make sure the event adheres to COVID-19 guidelines, Morse said they have been working closely with the Hill County Health Department and the Prairie Farms Golf Course and together they have come up with a solid plan to implement all safety protocols.

“They’ve approved some guidelines for the tournament so that we’re able to comply with the governor’s directive. Just like it is everywhere else, keep your distance. Bring your hand sanitizer. It’s going to be outside so it’s gonna be a little bit more flexible. We are going to be in the event center. We aren’t going to be having any more than six people at a table.  We’re gonna spread the tables out. Individually package meals are how we’re going to be serving dinner and we’re also going to be following all the other guidelines like everyone else is. The health department has been really nice to work with in helping us plan this.”

Morse said normally they have a preregistration party the night before the scramble, but they have decided to move all activities including their live auction and 50/50 drawing to Saturday, June 13 this year.

NLASF is asking teams to arrive by 8 a.m. The Golf Scramble is set to begin at 10 a.m.

Registration for this event has currently reached its maximum.
