FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The Chouteau County Fair Board has announced that this summer’s Chouteau County Fair has been canceled.
The Fair was scheduled for August 13th-16th, with the theme ‘Pullin’ for the Fair.’
The decision to cancel the fair was made because organizers believe Montana is unlikely to be in Phase 3 of reopening by mid-August.
4-H events will still be held, but a schedule has not been set.
This is the second mass festival in Chouteau County to be canceled due to the pandemic.
The Fort Benton Summer Celebration was scheduled for June 26th-28th. The event committee was pondering holding a smaller-scale event in late summer or early fall, but decided to cancel the festival altogether.
