HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – In January, the Northern Agricultural Research Center will be hosting a free Winter Beef Symposium near Havre. Hill County MSU Extention Agent Shylea Wingard says they will have two different sessions, one on the 10th, and the other on January 24th.
“Each day, we’re going to have different speakers. They’ll be talking about a variety of topics. We’ll have weak calf syndrome for both days. And then on the 10th, we’re going to talk about Richardson ground squirrels, winter feed supplementation, risks and opportunities in current cattle markets.”
At the meeting on the 24th, they will discuss cover crops, cattle grazing, cheatgrass control, beef cattle 3rd trimester nutrition requirements, and livestock programs. Those who want to attend need to call the Northern Ag Research Center at 265-6115 to register.
