BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme has announced that the Department of Justice is awarding the Chippewa Cree Tribe $394,452 to improve services for crime victims.
This grant will go towards advancing the use of technology, improving community preparedness and law enforcement training and providing emergency and transitional shelter to assist victims of crime.
Programs will also support victims of child abuse and fund research projects related to perpetrators and victims of elder abuse.
The grant was awarded by the Office of Justice Programs as part of over $144 million distributed to enhance response to victims of crime throughout the U.S.
