Hill County Health Board Sets Friday Meeting for Amendment to Order

By Josh Margolis

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Board of Health has scheduled a virtual meeting for Friday afternoon to discuss potentially amending the Health Officer Order to address the issue of how youth activities can continue operations safely.

As currently written, the Order limits capacity at many establishments to 50 percent and limits the majority of social gatherings to no more than 25 people.

The Order contains exceptions for school related events, including school sports. Representatives for Havre Youth Hockey, which is not affiliated with any school, believe the list of exceptions should be amended to allow them and other similar organizations to continue operating and allow parents to attend.

Havre Youth Hockey was granted permission to hold games this past weekend with parents in attendance with masks and social distancing.

Havre Youth Hockey has already crafted policies that include guidelines for sanitation, mask wearing, and social distancing.

The meeting will take place at 3 PM, two hours after the Board of Health’s weekly COVID-19 virtual meeting.

Language of the amendment and the Board agenda are not currently available.
