HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Service Center of the Salvation Army has concluded their Red Kettle campaign.
Emergency Services Director Trina Crawford says this year’s campaign was a success, netting $34,208, just short of their $38,000 goal, and significantly more than the $26,000 they raised last holiday season.
“I’ll tell you what, it turned out way better than I ever possibly could think that it would. I really didn’t think that we’d raise (even $30,000). So I’m very, very pleased.”
Crawford says the fundraising picked up in the final few days, with the last two days bringing in around a total of $4,000.
These funds will help the Salvation Army continue to provide emergency services throughout 2021.
“It is extremely important that we were able to raise that and I’m super excited that we have this so that we can do more help in the community than we have, even more than what we did last year, because that’s more money than we’ve had.”
Crawford says their food basket and Giving Tree programs were also a success, as they helped 67 families.
