Some Stimulus Payments Arriving Via Debit Card

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – 8 million Americans, including numerous people in north-central Montana, are receiving their latest $600 COVID-19 relief stimulus payment via Visa debit card.

arci Bergren of the Hill County Council on Aging has been fielding several calls from concerned residents worried it is a scam. However, she says the cards, which are blue with white stars on them and are mailed in a plain envelope with the return address of “Money Network Cardholder Services,” are completely legitimate.

“There are ways if you go online, that you can transfer all of the funds to your checking account. And you can go to www.eipcard.com, and that will go over everything you need to do. I traced that back from the IRS and social security to make sure it was legit.”

To activate the card, you will have to follow the instructions in the envelope and provide your social security number either online or over the phone.

If you have thrown the card away by mistake or have any questions, please call the Senior Center at 265-5464.
