HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Great Northern Fair Board met on Tuesday evening for their regular monthly meeting.
The Boared announced that events scheduled for the canceled 2020 Fair will roll over to the Fair this summer. However, it is still unknown whether there will be a midway, although clarity is expected by May.
When it comes to the rodeo event at the grandstand, there are now three entities competing to hold the event. The Great Northern Rodeo Committee, Treasure State Rodeo, and MSU-Northern Rodeo have all offered their services, and the Board will have to make a decision on which to go with.
The Board also announced that the Havre Lions Club will be holding another drive-thru pronto pup event, which will take place on May 15th and 16th. This comes after the Club sold over 5,000 pronto pups in the drive-thru event last September.
Just before the meeting was adjourned, it was announced that Chair Bobbie Dolphay, as well as Vice-Chair Chelby Gooch and Board member Ray Kallenberger, were all stepping down from the Board. This leaves the Board with a total of four vacancies that the Hill County Commission will have to fill.
Other items discussed:
- The new Fair website is expected to be operational by sometime in April
- Renovations to the Bigger Better Barn are almost complete, with the doors the only major item left. Plans to creat a new announcer booth remain in the planning stages.
