FORT BELKNAP, Mont. (NMB) – With the majority of Fort Belknap residents already having received the COVID-19 vaccine, their tribal health department is now offering vaccinations to anyone at least 16 years of age.

Dr. Jennifer Show, Nurse Practitioner with Fort Belknap Tribal Health and says they have both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines available.

“I always say that we don’t live in a bubble, so getting as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible is well within our best interest as a whole, as a community, and as communities that interact with each other.”

Show credits the infrastructure and coordination between Tribal Health and Indian Health Service for the success of their vaccination program.

“A lot of that is due to the public health nursing that Fort Belknap had. Fort Belknap had the infrastructure to really get this immunization rolled outl, which is what has made this a successful campaign for us in terms of trying to combat COVID-19.”

Anyone interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine via Fort Belknap Tribal Health is asked to call 353-3219. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are encouraged.
