HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Havre High School Class of 2002 graduate and an adjunct instructor at MSU-Northern, Michele Holden says her life experience makes her a particularly worthy candidate for the Havre School Board.
“I am running for school board because believe I can use my skillset to help the District with innovative solutions to the problems it is facing. I grew up in Havre and I attended the Havre School District my whole life until I graduated from Havre High School.”
As a self-employed Mental Health Therapist that works primarily with children, Holden says she has a unique perspective that would be helpful to the School Board.
“Because a lot of what you’re doing when you’re working in mental health is really just listening to people and trying to help them overcome challenges, whether they be very simple challenges or very difficult challenges. But being able to think outside of the box and know what’s going to work for that particular problem, and that particular person.”
Holden graduated from the University of Montana with a bachelors degree in political science in 2006, received a masters degree in human rights law in the United Kingdom, and then returned to Havre in 2009 and earned a masters degree in counseling education at MSU-Northern in 2013.
Holden is competing against four other candidates for two open three-year terms on the School Board.
