HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The teenager that died over the weekend in Canyon Ferry Reservoir has been identified.
The Independent Record reported that 17-year-old Elias Bowe of Helena died as the result of an incident that occurred just after 4 PM on Saturday.
Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton says Bowe was swimming with other teens on the northwest end of the Reservoir. He was unable to swim back to shore when the current increased.
Authorities recovered the body after two hours of searching. An autopsy will determine the cause and manner of death.
