Man Given Life in Prison for Murder Conviction

BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – The Billings Gazette reports that a 24-year-old Laurel man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 35 years after being convicted in a 2019 murder case.

Diego Hernandez was sentenced Monday in Yellowstone County District Court after a jury convicted him back in March after just two hours of deliberation.

Hernandez was accused of killing Lori Bray, 57. Hernandez gave Bray a ride home from a Laurel casino on the morning of October 1st, 2019, and is believed to have strangled her to death.

Hernandez invoked his fifth amendment rights during the trial.
