JOPLIN, Mont. (NMB) – The town of Joplin is preparing for a jam packed Saturday with Art in the Park, Dawson’s Run, a Car Show and the Joplin Motor Rodeo scheduled.
Shay Richter, Co-President of the Juvat Sled Jam, says everyone in Joplin marks this day on their calendar.
“People mark the first day of the year to make sure you made it another year, and then they go right to June, Father’s Day Weekend, they circle, Joplin Car Show. And then they highlight it, and then they put an asterisk next to it. It’s the biggest event that we have here in Joplin and we’re proud of it. We’re always ready to have a good time on Father’s Day weekend at the Car Show.”
Although there will not be snowmobile races, the Joplin Motor Rodeo will be expanded and will feature a brand new event – dirt bike jousting to end the evening.
“That should be a kick for anybody that’s interested in some very cheap, cause I’m talking free, entertainment.”
