FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The Fort Benton Summer Celebration is back this weekend after having to be canceled last year due to the pandemic.
Chairwoman Connie Jenkins says countless hours of work have been put in since they received authorization back in March.
“It’s been very challenging to put this together in three months, but we got it done. And some things that we normally do are not happening, but we have a full schedule and people should come on down and enjoy all the different events and have a good time.”
Free events include live music, a parade, a fun run, and fireworks. The parade on Saturday morning will lead into a ceremony at noon at Old Fort Park to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Fort Benton.
“The Mayor will be saying a few words, and also (historian) Ken Robison will be speaking about the history.”
The Summer Celebration begins on Friday morning and ends on Sunday afternoon.
