COEUR d’ALENE , IDAHO (NMB) – A Whitefish man who has admitted to shooting a firearm at a bar in downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho last summer will serve prison time, according to the Post Falls Press.
Austin L. Sherper, 25, pleaded guilty to eight felonies in April, including one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and seven counts of aggravated assault.
He was sentenced by a Judge in Idaho on Monday to up to 15 years in prison, with five years fixed and 10 years indeterminate.
Prosecutors alleged that Sherper was in a white truck and fired 10 shots from a handgun at people outside the bar.
Two people suffered injuries, and Sherper surrendered to authorities after a standoff that lasted several hours.
