MALTA, Mont. (NMB) – At the urging of Governor Greg Gianforte, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has extended the public comment period to 90 days for the American Prairie Reserve’s (APR) bison proposal.
The comment period is related to the BLM’s draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the 10-year bison grazing proposal on 69,000 acres of BLM-administered lands in Phillips County.
The period now runs through September 28th.
A virtual public meeting remains set for Wednesday, July 21st, from 1-4 PM via zoom.
The BLM is expected to make a final grazing decision at the conclusion of the comment period and after a Final Environmental Assessment is released.
