WINNETT, Mont. (NMB) – The Great Falls Tribune reports that a homicide investigation is ongoing after a man was allegedly stabbed to death at an apartment in Winnett on July 15th.
The Petroleum County Coroner says the victim was Larry G. Patterson, 79.
According to authorities, law enforcement were dispatched to a reported stabbing at 7:15 PM on Thursday, and when they arrived, the victim was lying dead in the courtyard.
The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Andrew Smith, who had a gunshot wound on his left arm. He was treated for injuries at a local hospital and is now being held in the Mussellshell County Jail on suspicion of deliberate homicide.
The relationship between the suspect and the victim is not clear at this time.
