Drowning Reported in Stillwater County

STILLWATER COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The Stillwater County Sheriff’s Office reports that a woman has drowned in the Stillwater River.

Stillwater Count Sheriff Chip Ken says the drowning occurred near the Jeffery’s Landing Fishing Access Site on July 20th.  A body of a woman was found at 10:29 AM hung up in a shallow portion of the river channel and retrieved by authorities.

The victim was in her 30’s and resided outside of Stillwater County, but her name will not be released until her family is notified.

The cause of death has been confirmed via autopsy.
