CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – A fire over the weekend in Blaine County burned 250 acres of private land.
The Chinook Volunteer Fire Department says they were dispatched to the fire, which was started by haying equipment 15 miles south of Chinook, at around 4 PM on Friday.
Although it was under control by 11 PM on Friday, some crews remained on the scene throughout the weekend to ensure it didn’t spark back up.
The fire burned fields, hay bales, and prairie land. No structures were damaged.
Fire Departments at the scene included Chinook, Harlem, Turner, Bear Paw, Fort Belknap and others.
