Bozeman Man Killed in Crash

BELGRADE, Mont. (NMB) – A 54-year-old Bozeman man was killed and a 20-year-old Billings man was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Gallatin County on Saturday afternoon.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 5:20 PM on a dirt road known as 16 Mile Creek Road, when a speeding westbound 1999 Chevy Suburban went off the left side, over corrected, and then rolled over on the right side of the road.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, who was wearing a seat-belt, was transported to a Bozeman hospital, but has since been released.

Alcohol and excessive speed are both suspected factors in the crash.

The road was bare and dry.
