GLASGOW, Mont. (NMB) – With autumn now underway, several counties on the Hi-Line have updated fire restrictions.
Stage 1 fire restrictions, which ban open burning and smoking in outdoor areas where there are flammable materials, have been rescinded in Chouteau, Garfield, Toole, Valley, Roosevelt and McCone Counties.
Stage 1 restrictions remain in place in Hill, Blaine, Fergus, Liberty and Phillips Counties.
Fires are not allowed at any Fishing Access Sites or Wildlife Management Areas in counties with Stage 1 restrictions.
The entire Hi-Line remains in a drought, so no matter the local restrictions, it is important to take precautions to prevent fires from starting.
