DEER LODGE, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Corrections has announced that two inmates at the State Prison in Deer Lodge died by suicide in separate incidents last month.
DOC Director Brian Gootkin says correction officers found 40-year-old Edward A. Bailey unresponsive in his cell on September 20th. On the 28th, they found 47-year-old Jeremy B. Cramer unresponsive in his cell.
Both inmates were pronounced dead by the prison physician.
A press release says DOC follows post-death protocol as required by Montana law.
