CHOUTEAU COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – After being canceled last year, the Chouteau County Country Christmas is back on.
The celebration is set to take place this Saturday and Sunday in towns across Chouteau County, and Organizer Connie Jenkins says she’s thrilled this tradition is returning.
“What makes it special is that people can spend a day or two days just going around to all the different little towns and seeing what they have to offer. Out at Shonkin, for instance, they have stew, soups and dinner rolls for donation, and they have craft vendors out there. It’s fun to go to the Shonkin Hall. Big Sandy is going to have, at the Big Sandy Senior Citizens Center, a curated show and bazaar with handmade products.”
Other events include antiques and collectibles sales in Virgille and Loma an ornament hunt in Fort Benton. A Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at 5:30 PM on Saturday in Fort Benton at the Old Walking Bridge.
“Santa will arrive and we will have music by The Lucky Valentines and Grant Stebbins at the Old Bridge. Then there will be hot cocoa there. The music is continuing onto the Grand Union, they will have music again during dinner.”
On Friday at 7 PM and Saturday at 3 PM, there will be a theatre production of OZ at the Big Sandy High School Auditorium, with tickets just $2.
