Havre Community Christmas Dinner Seeks Donations and Volunteers

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – This year’s Havre Community Christmas Dinner will be hosted at the Eagles Club.

Dinner will be served from 11 AM-2 PM, and everyone is welcome. Candace Dess, Auxiliary President of the Club, says it is great to have this event closer to normal after it was take-out and delivery only last year.

“It’s gonna be nice that people are gonna be able to come into the club and sit down and have a hot meal. We are still doing the deliveries. But last year, because of COVID, we only did pick-up and delivery. So this year is getting a little bit back to normal. We’re not quite there yet, but we’re working on it.”

Former Eagles Manager Tom Farnham was a major organizer of the annual dinner, but passed away in May. Without his help, Dess says she is seeking extra assistance.

“He headed this dinner. He put his heart and soul into it every year. We don’t have a lot of his contacts for donations and such. So we’re just reaching out to the community and asking if anybody would like to donate to this Christmas dinner.”

To donate or volunteer for the dinner, contact the Eagles Club at 406-265-9551.

For takeouts, shut-ins, and deliveries, call the Senior Citizens Center at 265-5464 by 3 PM on December 23rd.

Although the Eagles Club hosts the dinner, it is funded entirely by local community donors.
