HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Commerce has announced that federal funding, grants, and COVID-relief funds have been allocated to over a dozen Montana communities to rehabilitate, preserve or construct more than 945 affordable rental homes.
Commerce has also allocated grant and COVID-relief funding for several area projects.
This includes Highland Manor in Havre, which is receiving over $540,000 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program and Housing Trust Fund (HTF) grant funding and nearly $860,000 in American Rescue Plan gap financing to rehabilitate and preserve 32 existing homes for families and individuals.
Oakwood Village in Havre is receiving $250,000 of Housing Trust Fund grant funds to rehabilitate and preserve 60 existing homes for families and individuals.
In Lewistown, Crowley Flats is receiving $220,000 of Housing Tax Credits to build 16 new homes for families and individuals.
Crowley Flats is also receiving $380,000 in HOME funding to build 16 homes in an existing downtown building for families and individuals.
