Bigfork Bridges Will Be Replaced

BIGFORK, Mont. (NMB) – The Flathead Beacon reports that two aging bridges in the town of Bigfork are set to be replaced.

One of the bridges is on Bridge Street and crosses the Swan River. It is 110-years old with one lane and one walkway. In 2024, it will be replaced with a similar looking bridge with a sidewalk that meets ADA standards.

The other bridge is the Sportsman’s Bridge, which is on State Highway 82 and crosses the Flathead River. The current bridge is over 65-years-old. The new bridge will be located just south of the current one. Construction is scheduled to start in 2023.
