HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Over the past week, MSU-Northern has received endowments and scholarship gifts.
A $200,000 endowment was gifted to Northern by anonymous individuals and will be used to fund student scholarships, specifically for those enrolled in programs that are part of the College of Technical Science.
The Justin S. French Memorial Endowment & Nursing Scholarship will fund a nursing scholarship in perpetuity. It is in honor of French, who died of COVID-19 complications in August at the age of 53.
The Jazeb Enowment and Scholarship will fund a scholarship for students from Class C High Schools and studying trades. It was created by Bryan and Roberta Hahn of Reed Point.
Northern has also announced the creation of the Dyllan Murray Memorial Scholarship. This was given by Lincoln Holt, a friend of the Murray family. He auctioned off a handcrafted knife to support this gift in memory of his friend. Dyllan Murray was a 21-year-old Northern student who tragically passed away this fall.
In addition, Northern has announced that an anonymous alum has donated $20,000 to the University in memory of Jess Galbreath, who died in a car accident in 1979 at the age of 27. Thanks to the donation, $2,000 per year will go towards scholarships for students who are part of the Rodeo team.
