HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The hunting of male mountain lions in hunting districts 405, 447 and 471 in north-central Montana closed at one-half hour after sunset on Thursday, December 23rd.
The order halting the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota for the combined districts had been met.
The hunting of female mountain lions in these districts, as well as 411, 412, 416, 446, 451, 452 and454 remains open, as those quotas have not been met.
In the rest of Region 4, the hunting of all mountain lions remains open.
The hunting of all mountain lions throughout Region 6 has already closed for the season.
