Baker Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

EKALAKA, Mont. (NMB) – A 23-year-old woman from Baker was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Carter County.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the incident occurred at 4 PM, when the woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was driving a 2015 Ford Focus northbound at mile marker 12 of Montana Highway 7.

The vehicle lost position on the roadway, struck a bridge deck and went off the right side of the road. The vehicle overturned and the driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was dry at the time, and there were no other occupants of the vehicle.

Alcohol, drugs or excessive speed are all not listed as suspected factors.
