HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Wild Horse Rural Volunteer Fire Department is holding an Open House Super Bowl party beginning this Sunday at 1 PM.
The public is invited to check out their new fire hall, located 11 miles north of Havre just off the Wild Horse Highway at the intersection with Road 435 North.
Hill County Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator Amanda Frickel says this project was years in the making for the volunteer fire department, which continues to accept donations.
“They had so much help with the building and so many materials donated and so many people donating man hours to get that building up that they just want to do a thank you appreciation type of thing for the people that have helped with the building. They also want to bring the community together. Not a lot of people know exactly the extent of what the rural fire departments do for the area or how they work. This is a great way to get the community involved … and to know what really goes into being a rural fire department in rural Montana.”
There will be a chili feed, meat and cheese trays and vegetable trays. There will be bottled water as well and people can bring their own drinks.
