
HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Historical Society is seeking nominees for the 2021-2022 Montana History Teacher of the Year.
All history teachers that work with 7th-12th grades are eligible.
The winner will receive the 33rd Montana Statehood Centennial Bell Award. The winner and their class will be honored in a ceremony at the State Capitol on November 9th. Prizes include a plaque and a $4,500 cash award that can be used to enhance learning opportunities.
Nominations are due by the end of April and should be emailed to coordinator Norma Ashby Smith at ashby7@charter.net.
The nomination email should include the nominator and teacher’s name, school, address, phone number and email.
Nominated teachers will be asked to submit two letters of support and a one-page letter detailing why they enjoy teaching Montana history.
