HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The 46th Annual Hi-Line Chapter of Ducks Unlimited Banquet and Auction is set for this Friday at the Duck Inn Olympic Room.
Jim Bachini says this event usually raises upwards of $10,000, with funds going to waterfowl habitat projects.
“It’s not only just for the birds. It covers everything: fishing…if there is no water, there isn’t any animals. Period. So they are trying to do water conservation, is what this outfit does. So that they can get the ducks and the geese and the pheasants and the deer and the fisheries guys places to go.”
Bachini says Ducks Unlimited spends a significant amount of money along the Hi-Line on these projects.
“In the form of projects and canals and dikes and head gates and special projects. They work pretty close with the landowners and (the Bureau of Land Management.”
Cocktails will start at 5:30 PM, the banquet starts at 7, and the auction will begin at 8.
Tickets are $35 for one or $60 for a couple and can be purchased at Bing-n-Bobs, Stromberg’s Sinclair, or at the door.
