Filius Competes at NCAA Wrestling Tournament

UPDATE: Parker Filius saw his run at this year’s NCAA wrestling tournament come to a close with an 8-7 loss to Central Michigan’s Dresden Simon in the second round of the consolation bracket on Friday morning.

Parker ends his season with 22 wins and is still eligible to compete for the Boilermakers in the 2022-23 season.

Parker had season bests for the Purdue wrestling team in winning percentage and takedowns.

In his second round match at 141 pounds on Thursday evening at the NCAA Wrestling Tournament in Detroit, Michigan, former Havre High Standout Parker Filius, now wrestling for Purdue University, fell to number 4 seed Real Woods of Stanford, 8-0 in a major decision.

This came after Filius, the 20 seed, took down Iowa State’s Ian Parker, the 13 seed, in a 13-5 major decision in the first round on Thursday morning.

Next up for Filius is a second round wrestleback contest against 14 seed Dresden Simon of Central Michigan on Friday.
