(Great Falls) – A Great Falls man will spend more than three years in federal prison after shooting up his home near an elementary school while high on meth.Fifty-nine-year-old Timothy Paul Whittles was sentenced Monday to three-and-a-half years behind bars, followed by three years of supervised release, for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Whittles, who has six prior felony convictions, pleaded guilty earlier this year.Authorities say Whittles called 911 in March 2025 claiming intruders were inside his house. While still on the phone with dispatchers, he loaded and fired a 45-caliber handgun.When police arrived at the home—located near Lincoln Elementary School—they found the front door riddled with bullet holes fired from the inside toward the school. School surveillance footage and an interior search showed no evidence of any break-in or intruders, but officers discovered dozens of spent shell casings scattered throughout the house.
