On Thursday evening in Sioux City, the No. 2 seeded Rocky Mountain College women’s basketball team defeated No. 3 Wayland Baptist of Texas 66-53 in the Round of 16 of the NAIA Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
Kloie Thatcher led Rocky with 15 points as they advance to the quarterfinals for the first time in program history. Next up for Rocky is a quarterfinal matchup with regional No. 1 seed Thomas More of Kentucky at 2 PM mountain time on Saturday.
Also on Thursday, the No. 3 seed Carroll College women were defeated by No. 2 Morningside of Iowa in the round of 16, 71-67. Havre native Dani Wagner contributed 17 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
