MALTA, Mont. (NMB) – The races for Phillips County offices are now set after the filing deadline passed last week.
The one contested race is for the non-partisan position of Justice of the Peace, with incumbent Gayle Stahl set to take on Katie L. McKeon.
Ann M Remely was the only candidate to file for the combined position of Treasurer/Assessor/Superintendent of Schools. Incumbent Jean Mavencamp did not file.
For County Attorney, Republican Dan O’Brien was the only candidate to file. Incumbent Republican Ed Amestoy did not file.
All other filings were from incumbents. They were:
- District A County Commissioner (R – John F. Carnahan)
- Sheriff/Coroner (R – Jerry Lytle)
- Clerk & Recorder/Surveyor/Auditor (R – Lynnel LaBrie)
The deadline for declared write-ins is 5 PM on April 4th. However, the names of declared write-ins will not be on the ballot, but they can be written in by voters.
Primary election day is June 7th, and the General Election will take place on November 8th.
