GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – A man has been arraigned in U.S. District Court and denied allegations that he attempted to murder a man in Rocky Boy in September 2021.
Moises Zamora pleaded not guilty last week to a superseding indictment charging him with assault with intent to commit murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault resulting in serious bodily injury, use of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Zamora remains detained pending further proceedings.
The Grand Jury indictment alleges that on September 25th 2021, Zamora assaulted a man on the Rocky Boy Reservation with the intent to commit murder. The indictment alleges that Zamora used a 9mm handgun with specific intent to commit bodily harm, that it was discharged during the commission of the violent offense, and that he knowingly possessed and intended to distribute five or more grams of meth.
Court documents allege that Zamora shot and critically injured a man and then fled in a vehicle to Bowery Peak, where he was caught by an FBI Special Agent.
Zamora was initially arraigned in November 2021 on four felonies, but a superseding indictment was filed a few weeks ago.
