HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commission convened on Thursday morning for their weekly business meeting and voted to approve an agreement with the DNRC (Department of Natural Resources and Conservation) for the installation and operation of stream flow and reservoir monitoring equipment.
The equipment will be installed to measure outflow at Beaver Creek from the Reservoir and elevation in Beaver Creek Reservoir. Stream flow will be measured in cubic feet per second. The Commission says there is already a gauge measuring inflow from Beaver Creek into the Reservoir.
This project is being grant funded and will cost about $58,500. The equipment will be maintained and monitored by the DNRC.
The Commission hopes that the DNRC will install the gauges soon, but there is no firm timeline, other than that the contract expires at the end of 2023.
Also at the meeting, the Board approved the appointment of Lou Hagener to the County Conservation District Board, and the re-appointments of Cody Jurenka and Kim Peterson to that Board for four-year terms.
