TREASURE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a 60-year-old woman from East Amherst, New York, was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-94 in Treasure County on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at about 9:53 AM on I-94 west at mile marker 74 near Hysham, when a 51-year-old woman from Richmond, California was driving a Jeep Wrangler westbound. The vehicle exited the left side of the roadway into the median, and the driver then overcorrected and re-entered the roadway before exiting off the right side, rolling multiple times.
The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment while the passenger was pronounced deceased on scene. They were both wearing seatbelts.
The road was bare and dry.
The investigation is ongoing.
