HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Fifty-eight new officers who will serve in 36 agencies across the state graduated this past week from the Montana Law Enforcement Academy (MLEA), which is part of the Montana Department of Justice.
Many of the graduates will be serving jurisdictions in north-central Montana. This includes:
- Blackfeet Law Enforcement – Brian Williamson
- Cascade County Sheriff’s Office – Shane Turner
- Fort Peck Tribes Law & Justice – John Benavente and Nathaniel Clark
- Great Falls Police Department – Jordan Aliperto
- Havre Police Department – Lucas Elander
- Lewistown Police Department – Michael May
- Liberty County Sheriff’s Office – Bill Hicks
- Phillips County Sheriff’s Office – Marie Buchfeller
- Pondera County Sheriff’s Office – Justin Kjos
- Teton County Sheriff’s Office – Manti Jeffs
- Valley County Sheriff’s Office – Kevin Blagg
MLEA provides basic and advanced training for state, county, city, and tribal law enforcement officers throughout the state.
Attorney General Austin Knudsen addressed the class and presented the new officers with their diplomas and awards.
